Our bedroom - finally! This room was different from all the other rooms for me. I had an idea of how I wanted all the other rooms to look before I set it up, but our bedroom was not like that. It's true that usually people set up their kids' rooms first, and there is a lot of attention given to kitchens and living rooms. Bedrooms get the shaft usually... Anyway, all this to say it's been 14 months since we moved in, and our bedroom is finally set up!
I knew this room would need a lot of art. We purposely have very minimal furniture in the room, so all the walls needed art. Since I had to make most of it, it took me a while to get around to all this! This grid of pieces is a mix of silkscreen prints and fabric pieces. Can you guess which one is which?
Embroidery from Mexico!
In my last post, I shared the pillow making process for this room. The fabric is a mix of African Dutch prints and Egyptian fabrics. The rug for the room is made from antique Turkish rugs.
A silkscreen print next to the lamp and two fabric pieces by yours truly.
The piece on the left is an homage to Louise Borgeois.
Another shot of our beautiful rug! The bed is from Ikea!
The night stands are from Korea. It's not an antique, but it looks like it from our use!
It's like our bedroom is my mini gallery!
I found the lamps at a thrift store, and the shades are from Ikea.
Silkscreen mono print by me.
I was originally going to use patterned dark blue curtain, but I changed my mind and went with white. I think it makes it much more peaceful.
A pot that I threw in ceramics 1 class - where Ritter and I became friends!
In case anyone was wondering, the wall color is Gray Owl (half tint) by Benjamin Moore. Thanks for checking in!
